Head bobbing

There is a cat in the shelter I volunteer at. She will look fine, then suddenly her head will bob up and down, like she is nodding 'yes' but sort of side to side a bit too. It will last a few seconds and then stop. Wait a minute and there it goes again. I was wondering if this was a behavior thing, like from being confined for too long, or if it was a medical thing.

Could be either..mention it to another staff member to tell the vet when cat is in for a check up. If cat has no other issues is probably behavioral, just her nature, I've seen many cats do it. Could be a neurological problem too if it is too pronounced, one of my fosters is like that, she moves her head in jerky movements sometimes and she's fine. But to know for sure as the shelter vet.
