we are adopting a kitty next weekend. she is a white longhaired. the rescue recomended royal canin persian, or hair & skin formula. though i could write novels about dog food, i know next to nothing about cat nutrition. our last cat ate weight management purina one, as it was all she tolerated. the new kitty isnt a persian but has loooong white fur. any rec's? i was thinking about chicken soup for the cat lover soul. seems to be decent ingredients, and enough omega's for skin/fur. right now she is eating cat chow in the shelter. thanks from a newbie...

if you don't want to feed the Royal Canin Persian any other high quality cat food, like tha Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul. for long haired cats i would just make sure you brush her enough and keep an eye out for hairballs.

Scruffy is a medium haired kitty and we feed him Innova EVO. His hair is sooooooo soft and smooth and shiny. I'm sure if you wanted some extra shine then flax seed oil works wonders and I'm sure fish oils would be great too.
