Dear Catster reader,

Almost two years ago, we invested numerous resources and rebuilt the Catster community. With new hardware, software and personnel, we did our best to satisfy the many users who shared their thoughts, pictures, questions, and love for and of their pets with us and friends. It was a thriving community with many users. We hoped, however, there would be more like you.

Times and habits have changed and we are sad to announce that the Catster community will be closing down on July 20, 2019.

Catster magazine, www.catster.com and the associated social media sites are NOT shutting down. We encourage you to continue reading the content found in the pages of the magazine and the web sites, commenting through the mechanisms provided and sharing your ideas and comments with us and your fellow readers.

Instructions for accessing pet profiles were shared with everyone in 2017. The instructions can be found elsewhere within the forum. AFTER JULY 20TH, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ACCESS THIS CONTENT. And, effective immediately, we are no longer able to answer questions about the community.

Thank you for your support and we look forward to serving you through our magazine and website.

Cheers,
Catster

Big kitty Houses and trees

Hi there I am a big kitty, I am now 21lbs and 30in from my nose to my butt (not counting my tail). Does anyone have a good place to get big kitty furniture? My mom has looked all over but everything she finds I could knock over, or I won\'t fit in it (some the opening is only as big as my head) :( Let me know if anyone has had any luck, so my Maine Cooniness can have my own furniture. Thanks, Grendelz

I am also a really big guy. I am 38 inches from head to tail and I also weigh in at 21 lbs. Mom was concerned about me climbing and jumping because I am 10 years old now. She didn't want me to be able to knock over the cat tree so she and Daddy and my grandpaw built one. Its 4 feet long by 2 feet deep and it is over 6 feet tall. If you want I can show you a picture!

My cat tree picture is up. Search the photo tags for "Pepper's Cat Tree". Make sure you click 'exact match'.

Wow, Pepper. That is an awsome tree. Mom wants to build one for us. Can you tell me how you attached the carpet? Our first thought was to staple but is that safe?? Thanks.

Thanks Diego! Mom used small screws. She though of using staples but thought they might pull up or maybe we would get a claw hooked in one if it wasn't nailed down all the way.
