Dear Catster reader,

Almost two years ago, we invested numerous resources and rebuilt the Catster community. With new hardware, software and personnel, we did our best to satisfy the many users who shared their thoughts, pictures, questions, and love for and of their pets with us and friends. It was a thriving community with many users. We hoped, however, there would be more like you.

Times and habits have changed and we are sad to announce that the Catster community will be closing down on July 20, 2019.

Catster magazine, www.catster.com and the associated social media sites are NOT shutting down. We encourage you to continue reading the content found in the pages of the magazine and the web sites, commenting through the mechanisms provided and sharing your ideas and comments with us and your fellow readers.

Instructions for accessing pet profiles were shared with everyone in 2017. The instructions can be found elsewhere within the forum. AFTER JULY 20TH, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ACCESS THIS CONTENT. And, effective immediately, we are no longer able to answer questions about the community.

Thank you for your support and we look forward to serving you through our magazine and website.

Cheers,
Catster

Therapy Cat gear?

Does anykitty know where I can get things that say Therapy Cat in Training or any Therapy Cat stuff? All I can find is Therapy Dog. Even Therapy Pet would be sufficient. I don't want to wear something that says D-O-G! (Even though I'm friends with a lot of dogs). I posted this in my Therapy Pets group, too (which any therapy kitty is welcome to join if they want).

    Tabby, what kind of gear are you looking for? Vests? I may have a couple of ideas.

    Anything. A vest (I can get one from Delta Society once I'm registered, but I'm going to be working with another group too, so don't want to wear the same one for both), maybe a patch to go on my carrier, or a leash cover, stuff like that.

    I will have to find it again but I did find a site that had vests in plain colors with nothing on them. I would start there. Next I would take the vest to a local shop that does embroidering, they can stitch your name and anything else you want and it will look very professional. I will take a look and see if I can find you some on-line resources for both. It amy be tomorrow before I have time but I will find it for sure.

    http://www.servicedogequipment.com/equipment1.htm Ok - this place looks like it would be a good one. They sell both capes and vest and all work is custom. This means you can talk to them and see what alterations or sizing is better for cats. They also do custom embroidery and when I looked at their patches at the bottom of the page they say they will make custom patches too. I think gear for kitties isn't that common so custom will probably be the way to go. Good luck. Mom wanted me to be a therapy kitty but I am afraid of people I don't know. Purrrrrrrrrrrrs :^:

    One more: http://raspberryfield.com/mm5/merchant.mvc This place has everything including leash covers. Everything is custom so you can have whatever you want put on it. ;c;

    Thank you so much, Diego! I talked with the Raspberry Field people, and they said they could do customs but don't have enough people asking about cat stuff to have it as regular merchandise. Haven't checked out the rest of the links yet. Thanks!

    I am glad they will be able to help you. Maybe you will start a new trend. You could be the first kitty on their photos page. How cool would that be. Good luck! =;

    CafePress has doggie t-shirts that you can customise with your own design. Maybe a small size would fit: http://www.cafepress.com/cp/customize/product.aspx?clear=true&no=110 :^:

    Thought about the Cafe Press thing, since I've already got a store on there. Can't promote it through here, but if anyone's interested they can p-mail me. Just checked all the cat-sized products they have, though, and the teddy-bear t-shirt looks like it could be the right size. Maybe I'll design one of those, and then just give the bear away and keep the shirt. ::o

    These are nice resources and great ideas until Birbanto and I are registered with the Delta Society. Thanks for posting the question.
