FIRST-OF-ITS-KIND ADOPTION EVENT FOR BONDED CATS “Me and My Shadow” Cat Adoption Event Will Place Best Friends Forever Together Kitten Rescue (www.kittenrescue.org) is holding a special adoption event featuring over 25 pairs of cat buddies looking to melt hearts and find their forever homes. The “Me and My Shadow” Cat Adoption Event will be held at the Encino Petco (17919 Ventura Blvd.) on October 6 from 12 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. This first-of-its-kind event is sponsored by Kitten Rescue, Los Angeles’ largest no-kill cat rescue organization. These kitties are some of the 1000 cats currently living in Kitten Rescue foster homes. Only bonded pairs have been invited to attend the event – kitties that are Best Friends Forever and often caught cuddling, grooming and playing together. “Sometimes, a cat will bond so closely with another cat in the same home that the foster parent will do everything to keep the pair together,” said Ben Lehrer, President of Kitten Rescue. “This event will feature a wonderful selection of these bonded pairs.” Research has shown that cats which have a kitty companion are better socially adjusted and stay healthier. “We firmly believe that two cats are better than one,” said Lehrer. “Having two requires little additional care, and you get twice the love!” Snacks will be served and each adopter will receive a gift bag filled with fantastic cat toys and food samples from Petco. For more information about the event, email [email protected] or visit http://www.kittenrescue.org. Kitten Rescue is an all volunteer, non-profit, no-kill organization devoted to finding loving new homes for unwanted and abandoned cats and kittens. Kitten Rescue rescues, rehabilitates and re-homes over 1,000 cats and kittens every year.

This is the best idea! When my best friend Othello died, mom went to get me a new friend because I cried all the time. When she came back she had to bundles of kitty. She said they were snuggled up together and that she couldn't take just one of them!

What a wonderful idea!! Me and my "Shadow"(just happens to be his name) bonded as kittens(not the same litter) and still groom, cuddle and play with each other every day!! It really is a great idea to adopt two.

Me and My Shadow was so much fun! There were 46 cats there (that's 23 pairs!!!) and two pairs were adopted! Not a huge success, but a success nonetheless! Thanks everyone for crossing your paws for us! I think it helped! Love, Langston

This is a wonderful idea! Cats do very well in the company of a "buddy" cat!
