Dear Catster reader,

Almost two years ago, we invested numerous resources and rebuilt the Catster community. With new hardware, software and personnel, we did our best to satisfy the many users who shared their thoughts, pictures, questions, and love for and of their pets with us and friends. It was a thriving community with many users. We hoped, however, there would be more like you.

Times and habits have changed and we are sad to announce that the Catster community will be closing down on July 20, 2019.

Catster magazine, www.catster.com and the associated social media sites are NOT shutting down. We encourage you to continue reading the content found in the pages of the magazine and the web sites, commenting through the mechanisms provided and sharing your ideas and comments with us and your fellow readers.

Instructions for accessing pet profiles were shared with everyone in 2017. The instructions can be found elsewhere within the forum. AFTER JULY 20TH, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ACCESS THIS CONTENT. And, effective immediately, we are no longer able to answer questions about the community.

Thank you for your support and we look forward to serving you through our magazine and website.

Cheers,
Catster

No more treats for us, mommy is leaving her job at the end of this school year. She is looking for a new one...but what if she doesn't find one. she just keeps saying the teacher field is like this, but a girl needs her catnip, treats, wet food, toys, and MANY other things!!!!

:-O NO TREATS??!! How can life go on?? Is your mommy a teacher?? That's hard I suppose. I'm glad my mommy's a phone operator, the work is steady and there isn't much of it, but the money rolls in and treats are usually in the house .. . but not for long!

Yes, mommy is a teacher. She loves "her" kids and their families, but she needed to find someplace that was a better fit for her. In the teaching field you have two choices: 1. Sign your contract and break it if something better comes along 2. Don't sign, and hope you find something She didn't want to break her contract because she said it isn't fair to the kids, families, and other teachers. There are 4 people who are leaving/left the school she works at, and there are others who may leave if they find something else. It has been a hard year, so sissy and I are purring mommy gets a good job, and we still can have treats

Yep! I know exactly how your mommy feels. I stopped teaching last school year and it was a rough year this year. My babies didn't get everything they wanted and sometimes what they needed, but they understand and love me anyway. I'm trying to go back to teaching this upcoming school year, but I absolutely dread it. I soooo miss the money though, which isn't all that great, but it is waaaay better than what I'm making now. My babies need to go to the vet, but I just don't have the money right now. I'm saving and I hope that I can take them in another month.:(
