Aldo\'s tattoos--and Tess\'s??

It's Delyte. Aldo writes in his post that his person discovered that he has a series of letters and numbers tattooed on his rear legs on the inside. Is this in fact some kind of pet identification spot that Laurel had him marked so he would be identified if he ever got lost? It's hard to put a pet tattoo on a black cat where it will be noticed. If this is so, then maybe Tess has a similar tattoo, and we could contact the vets in the area where she last lived to see if she has been brought in for treatment? I don't think anyone envisions taking her away from someone who has been caring for her since May, but it would be so nice to know that she is alive and being cared for. My person has had a cat disappear and she knows the pain of wondering what happened to her and if she is still alive. Purrs to all, and still purring for Tess and all the other lost kitties, including Mr. D.

We know nothing about breeders, but do you think it could be some number assignment to a specific breeder?
