why do kittens pee on themselves

I have a 5 month old kitten and he always pees on himself! He has been doing it since he was really little! He also has a problem with one of his legs it is real flat like. I am worried about him and I dont know what to do. There are pee puddles all over the house. and when he sleeps on me I wake up wet!

Kittens are not supposed to lose control of their bladders. I have the feeling that something is going on with the nerves in your kitten's spine back there. If the leg problem involves a back leg, then he might have been injured at birth or maybe even dropped as a little baby. I actually have a Springer Spaniel with the same problem. When she lays down, you can see the urine dripping. I've tried medications, but nothing really works and it doesn't happen all the time. If you don't have a vet on board yet, you really need to get one and get your kitten checked out. This is a problem that will probably get worse as he gets older.

Kittens do not normally pee on themselves. In fact, a mother cat will usually lick the kitten's rear to stimulate it to go. Get your kitten checked by a vet right away. It could also be a urinary infection. I recently read about a cat with no bladder control. His owners keep him in diapers and bathe him regularly. Good luck.
