My cat lost a lower canine, how can I tell if the root is part of the tooth or still in her gums?

The best thing to do is get it checked by the vet. If their is a fragment of the tooth left in the gums it can abscess, this would be rather painful for you kitty and extra work for you give her antibiotics.
