Or it might be that the stress of a new baby has gotten her sick. Or it might be jealousy. Hard to say without knowing your cat. One thing I can tell you, though: as a general rule, when a pet starts eliminating inappropriately and they had never done it before, your first concern should be whether they're trying to tell you they are sick. Your kitty needs to go the vet so that a urine sample can be taken from her for testing. She might have a UTI, which can cause blockages, which can be deadly. Good luck.

Gracie is right about the vet. Cats start to not use the litter box for two reasons. One is a health issue and the other is stress. A new baby, while a blessing, can up the stress level in a home for everyone involved including the pets. Everyone is fussing over the human baby and no one is fussing over the kitty baby any more. She's angry, insulted and her little kitty feelings are hurt. She won't take it out on the baby, but she'll use what she has to make her point, which is pee or poo. Make sure you clean the areas she's using with an enzymatic cleaner such as Nature's Miracle since she can smell where she's gone even when you can't. Play with her when the baby naps (which new babies do a lot, hopefully), groom her, talk to her, go moderately overboard on her favorite treats and food, love her up whenever you have time. If it is a jealousy issue, that will make her feel a lot better about the "little interloper". But do take her to the vet to make sure there are no health issues.
