    Unless you got her from a breeder with papers and such, she's a DSH, but she's absolutely gorgeous! Oscar is a DSH too and I always say he's just too interesting to be one breed. :D

    Tortie is a color, not a breed. American Shorthair is a breed recognized by most cat associations. Unless you got her from a reputable breeder and she has papers she is not a purebred. She is a Domestic Shorthair and she is very pretty. Most cats are Domestics.

    It's sort of hard to tell, since most of the photos are of sexy women with cat faces. American Shorthair is a purebred cat breed that is shown at cat shows; if she were an American Shorthair, you would know because you'd spent thousands of dollars on her. American Shorthairs (see the Cat Fanciers' Association description, with photographs) do not really resemble ordinary, generic cats. They are a specific breed with a specific look. Conclusion: domestic short hair, even if you live in the U.S.
