My kitten needs to have some x-rays done to check a possible spinal problem, but he was very aggitated at the vet, during his first appointment, so they would like to sedate him to perform the x-rays. I am taking him this weekend and am a little weary about the gas-I haven't heard of that and also, aren't they trained to handle animals who get more aggressive during appointments? I am just concerned about side effects and if it is absolutely necessary to do this. my other cat is perfect at the vet and never had to be sedated, but all Indiana is doing is hissing. He did swat at the technitian once when he was about to get a needle, but his claws were not out and when I started to kiss the top of his head, he stopped. He also leaned into me, so if I am there, I don't see how it would be such a problem, but they said I cannot go in the x-ray room. Has anyone ever had this same recommendation from their vets? thank you!
