First off make sure she doesn't have fleas. I really don't know any home remedies. You could call her vet and ask him/her. You may also find something online. Hopefully another poster will know a home remedy.

Before you can cure itching, you need to know what is causing it. The kitten needs to go to the vet for this problem. It could be anything from fleas to allergies to ringworm (which can be itchy for some cats). Without knowing exactly what is causing the itching, home remedies could make the problem much worse. Definitely take the kitten to the vet!

The other posters are exactly right. There is a whole, long laundry list of things this kitten could have, from fleas to ringworm to allergies, etc. Sorry, but your friend will have to take the cat to the vet for a hands-on examination where the vet can see the skin and even take small scrapings to test to see how to treat it. There is no home cure as too frequent bathing can dry out the cat's skin and make the problem worse, not to mention really tick off the cat. No human preparations should even be used on a cat without veterinary supervision and advice. They can be lethal if used the wrong way.
