My kitten flops and falls off things.

Spooky is very floppy. He walks just fine, swaying a bit in the back when he walks. He climbs well, and is very active. But when he sits on our laps, he constantly falls off if not supported. He tracks visual and auditory stimuli fine. When he falls, he flops down instead of turning to land on his feet like other cats. I've been doing some research on the net, and he doesn't have head tremors and can walk fine. He prefers to sit with someone or be carried around, but we think that's more because he was abandoned by his former home when he was a few months old. Anyone have any idea why he's so floppy and falls off things? Thanks!

Without a neurological work up on Spooky, it's hard to say why he does what he does. If he didn't have such a great home before, it's possible he may have been injured in some way. The only way you can be positive of what's wrong with him in particular is to ask your vet to do tests.
