What is the cause for leaky eyes?

My cats eyes are leaky as if a human is crying. Now at his tear ducts it looks as if he has sores.

Remember, we aren't vets here and it's not possible for us to diagnose what's wrong with your kitty's eyes. He may have a chronic upper respiratory infection. He may have blocked tear ducts. He may have conjunctivitis ("pink eye"). He may have allergies. Only a hands-on exam from a vet can really diagnose what's wrong and then your vet can advise you as far as treatment. If money is a problem, most vets will accept a payment plan. Or, shelters often have days when you can take your cat in for an exam at reduced cost. Call around to find one that does. It's best you have him examined as soon as you can because if it's an infection, he could go blind. Good luck.

Izzie's right. Don't fool around with eye conditions. Go to the vet immediately. There are a number of infectious and non-infections conditions that, if left untreated, can lead to blindness. I've had experience with a rescue cat who had feline herpes (FIV), and one of his tear ducts was permanently scarred, so that the tears couldn't pass down to the nasal passage, and the area around his eye constantly needed to be wiped free of tears. Please go to your vet to get a diagnosis and the correct meds before permanent damage occurs.
