I'm so sorry for your loss. We recently had a question about whether animals grieve and/or mourn. This is quite possibly what your little girl is doing. She is obviously at a loss as to where her brother went. We can't explain to them about sickness and even if they have premonitions about death, it's doubtful that they understand the reality of it. All she knows is that her brother is somewhere and she can't find him. She probably can still smell him, but he's nowhere to be found. It might not be a bad idea, if she hasn't been in a while, to take her to the vet to make sure she has no health concerns such as a bladder infection. Stress can cause issues. Bleach or oxy-powder wash her bed and whatever else she's urinating on. Get new litter boxes so she can no longer smell her brother in the old ones.(But don't change little brands). Keep her life as normal as possible. Keep to her old routine. Be kind and loving, as much as she'll tolerate. You can help each other recover from the loss
