causes for diarrhea in cats

my 4yrs old male cat has been having diarrhea and vomiting atleast 2-3 times a week. he is a inside cat only. is there a special food that might help him. other than this problem he seems to be ok.

    could be parasitic infestation, imbalance of diet, poisoning in some... :l

    It's very difficult to diagnose what, if anything, might be wrong with your cat over a computer. It's possible that he may just have a "touchy" digestion and be hacking up hairballs. Or, if he's an outside cat, he could be getting into garbage or plants that don't agree with him. The usual signs that he's not feeling well, other than loose stools and vomiting, are lethargy, refusing to eat, not using his box, hiding, and/or a change in personality. Before you change his diet, you need to see your vet to make sure there's nothing else going on. Diet changes can make the situation worse. If the vet feels that his diet is causing these upsets, they will suggest what to feed and how.
