Introducing a Male Cat to His Kittens?

Melissa MaysMelissa Mays Anderson, SCMember Posts: 2
I gave birth to 4 beautiful, healthy kittens just 2 days ago. Their daddy was neutered just over a week ago and seems to still have some residual hormones; as he hisses at me in passing. How long until he is no longer a danger to his kittens and can meet them?

It's very very rare for male to help the queen and the kittens. They just want to mate but some male cat could try but sadly not. Mostly like the greatest male cat has great manners for kittens are male cheetho. They can watch, play, eat with them and train them

A male cat can mate and impregnate a female cat for up to 2 months after neutering, and females can sometimes go back into heat even while nursing. Your male still has the desire and attitude to mate and if the kittens get in his way, it will not go well for them. Male cats have the reputation of killing their kittens, and this is mostly why. They don't see them as their "precious babies", just as rivalries for mom's attention who get in the way. The kittens actually should not be introduced to dad until they are a few months old and able to defend themselves. Right now, the kittens are blind and pretty much immobile. They have no defense and wouldn't last long if he decides to attack. Keep Mom and the kits separate from Dad for as long as you can.
