Mom was concerned at first that I might be startled by the device, but from the first day I have found it to be wonderfully refreshing, and mercifully silent. Mom has also mentioned that she finds it extremely easy to clean and maintain, and the replacement charcoal filters which can purify even our building's sediment-laden tap water are very inexpensive as well: less than $5 at the local Petco for a package of 2, which are replaced every 30 - 60 days.
But something happened this morning that pleased Mom even more, and so impressed her with the manufacturers that she felt I should share it with fellow feline families. Yesterday Mom discovered the little pump inside the fountain had ceased working, which struck her as odd since the device was less than 4 months old. She called the Petmate company to ask about this as the fountain was still under something called "warranty", and expected to have to make arrangements for a replacement. To her surprise, she reached another human immediately and the nice lady guided Mom over the phone how to take apart the pump and clean it inside (directions Mom admits she had missed in the product's manual). In less than 5 minutes with no more complicated tools than a pair of tweezers and a Q-tip swab, the pump purred yet again, and so did I.
Mom says that these days it's a rare thing to find a truly quality product, but sadly an even rarer thing to find great customer service as well. She has just found both with the Petmate company, happily recommends them, and this fantastic drinking fountain to fellow cat lovers.
