I know that the breed standards for MCs were made up in the early 70's. At that time they disallowed any polydactyl cats to be shown successfully because the breed standard were made to only include "normal" pawed cats - poly cats can be shown but are eventually disqualified because they do not meet the breed standards. Pixie Bob cats can be "single" pawed or poly pawed (with only 7 toes allowed) (TICA) 40% of all Maine Coons were poly pawed prior to the 1970's breed standard ruling. How do you feel about a change in the breed standard allowing poly cats to show and be recognized as Maine Coon cats?
