I am no expert on breeds, but I do know that it's not a good idea to bathe a cat weekly if at all, unless they become so dirty that they can't clean themselves. Frequent bathing dries an animal's skin out, not to mention not many cats are fond of baths. Unless your kities are mining coal, they shouldn't need weekly baths, just brushing and occasional nail trims.

agree with izzie. i reckon your kitty isn't mining coal, so lay off with the shampooing. please consult with your vet. they can advise on kitty's shampooing needs.

Sphynx cats are different than regular cats & do NEED to be bathed regularly, unlike furry cats. They produce oil to lubricate fur, like ordinary cats, but have no fur so they're skin can get quite greasy. Dust & dirt stick to their skin, making them grimy. They need regular baths. They leave oily spots on places they regularly sleep on. Your vet will have a good SAFE shampoo for cats. I'd suggest buying some there. When you use it, dilute it in water first, using only a little. You want to remove excess oil but not dry her skin. Rinse ALL traces of shampoo off with lots of clean warm water. Make sure you don't let her get chilled but wrap her in a warm towel & make sure you dry her completely. Provide a warm, draft-free place for her afterwards. If you get her used to weekly baths as a kitten, you won't have her resisting as she grows. And you may find that she can get by with a bath every 2nd week. Checking to see how greasy her skin is is the best way to how often to bath her.
