I think your vet means lymphoma which is a type of cancer that can affect the intestines. The symptoms are similar to irritable bowell disease or food allergies - diarrhea, weight loss, inflamed/lumpy intestines that vet can feel during exams. The treatments you've had already are the classic ones for IBD but they are not always effective especially if the cat has food allergies causing the issues. I've invited you to the cats with allergies group so you can read what other cats with similar issues have tried. You may need to see a specialist vet (an oncologist or internist) to diagnose for sure what this is. The good news is that even if it is lymphoma/cancer this can usually be trated with chemotherapy and cats do much better with this than people do with chemo.
