Can a cat live a long time with a kidney stone?

    Kidney stones can be dangerous as they can cause a blockage which could cause kidney failure/kill your cat. They can also cause a lot of pain and infections. Most kidney stones can be dissolved by changing the pH of the urine using special food or meds. You should talk to your vet about these options as it would be pretty easy to treat your cat and he'll be able to live a long life.

    If your cat has a kidney stone it has to be removed or dissolved with special food, but once this has happened a switch to a high protein grain free WET diet only, will help you stay stone free.
