We were absent from our home for 4 days. A friend came to provide food, water and attention during our absence. After day one of our being away she could not find the cat. When we arrived we found Poupoune hidden under a couch in the dark basement. After much coaching she emerged but was extremely nervous and very afraid when she saw her tail. For 3 days she did not eat nor drink water or use her litter. After much coaching she now will eat, drink and use her litter but is very nervous and is constantly growling and watching her tail. It has been two weeks and she is still nervous while walking about the house and is constantly looking behind at her tail then she starts to attack her tail. This attact will last for several seconds then she will lie down and try to rest and sleep. She is scared of moving and sleeps a lot . Normaly she was an affectionate active cat who slept on our bed. She now sleeps alone and shows agression (growling) when picked up which is not normal for Poupoune.
