Dear Catster reader,

Almost two years ago, we invested numerous resources and rebuilt the Catster community. With new hardware, software and personnel, we did our best to satisfy the many users who shared their thoughts, pictures, questions, and love for and of their pets with us and friends. It was a thriving community with many users. We hoped, however, there would be more like you.

Times and habits have changed and we are sad to announce that the Catster community will be closing down on July 20, 2019.

Catster magazine, www.catster.com and the associated social media sites are NOT shutting down. We encourage you to continue reading the content found in the pages of the magazine and the web sites, commenting through the mechanisms provided and sharing your ideas and comments with us and your fellow readers.

Instructions for accessing pet profiles were shared with everyone in 2017. The instructions can be found elsewhere within the forum. AFTER JULY 20TH, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ACCESS THIS CONTENT. And, effective immediately, we are no longer able to answer questions about the community.

Thank you for your support and we look forward to serving you through our magazine and website.

Cheers,
Catster

I had a cat who had been treated with Revolution when I got him. He was okay, but I got a terrible allergic reaction from it. I've heard of cats getting dermatitis under their collars when treated with Revolution and similar products. I don't know about the lethargy thing. You should check with your vet.

You don't say how old your kitten is, but Revolution should not be used on kittens under 8 weeks of age. I'm assuming that you got the dose from your vet and didn't use some you had for another animal. I doubt if she's upset about the Revolution. And, their website claims it's pretty side-effect free. The one side-effect they did mention was "digestive upset", but that is only in 1% of the animals in their study. In any case, a lethargic kitten is not a well kitten and as Chibi advised, you do need to contact your vet asap.

well...whatever the website claims, in practice revolution is NOT side effect free. every time i've used it on kaya she sleeps for days. yes, cats sleep a lot...but to lie unmoving for ten hours is bizarre, especially for my ball of fire kaya-kitty. for two or three days she did little more than sleep, eat and shuffle to the litterbox. rhymon was less lethargic than kaya was, but it tore her tummy up...throwing up, diarrhea. my mother's cat, rex, and her dog, buddy, are both quite lethargic after they take revolution. none of these animals have suffered any permanent harm...but i've stopped using it. it's a great product, but i didn't like what it did to my cats. if your kitten doesn't improve quickly, get her to the vet...but yes. it could be a side effect, whatever the website says. (sorry, izzie...)
