If his lip is very swollen, the only thing you can do is take him to a vet. He may have been bitten by something and is having a reaction to the venom. He could also have what we call "feline acne" which is like human pimples. This is caused by a blocked pore that gets infected and causes swelling. He could also have dental issues-an infected gum or bad tooth. His whole mouth could be swollen but it's only showing up in his lip. It's possible, if you have more animals, that he could have been bitten. Or, if he was chewing on an electrical cord, it could be a burn. This is Wednesday, and if it hasn't gone down yet, your best bet would be to at least Call your vet. If you don't have a vet, contact a local rescue or shelter and they can recommend one for you.

my cat would get the swollen bottom lip thing every once in a while......the vet said she had cat-herpes. not contagious. it will go away on its own if it's that. may return again down the road.
