Kittens need to learn boundaries - it's part of socializing them. First things first, don't play with your kitten with your hands directly or they will see your hands as a toy - instead use a toy like a pipe cleaner or a toy on a wand - ribbons, etc. Second, when your kitten bites - a firm NO and then get up and leave. He will soon associate his biting with you leaving and that usually does the trick. Consistency is key! Try to schedule play time as well as your kitten has a lot of energy it needs to release - the more you tucker him out the calmer a kitty he will be! Good luck and congrats on your new furbaby!

Phoebe is right! NEVER play with your kitten using your hands, or he/she will learn that hands are toys. Look for toys that the kitten could release his/her energy and his desire of biting and scratching (this is important!). When he/she bites or scratches you, you should say “NO!”, stop the playtime and go away. Only after a few minutes you go play with him/her again. This will teach him/her that the fun stops when he/she bites or scratches you. And like Phoebe said, be persistent and the kitten will learn to play with you nicely.
