mysterious illness in 13 yr old female cat

 Member Posts: 1
Her normal weight 12 lbs but she dropped to a drastic 7 lbs. She ate more then normal but otherwise acting fine. Did a full CBC and came back as hyperthyroid. Vet put her on tapazole for 3 weeks with no improvement. She stopped eating and went to emergency for assistance. She tested negative for leukemia & hiv, & kidneys fine. Her liver values were a little high but not enough to suggest any liver disease, more that her liver was helping her body fight off *something*. At this point lymphatic swelling was found & an aspirate done to test for lymphoma. No cancerous cells present. Due to lack of weight & food she became anemic & low blood protein so the aspirate made her bleed internally. Surgery was required & several blood transfusions as she was not clotting properly. Been a fight to control the bleeding at this point and regulate her clotting factors. Surgery did not show any source of bleeding they could fix but they saw the spleen and small intestine are enlarged. What can this be?

I am so sorry. You must love your Kitty so very much. Your last ditch effort would be a consultation with vet that specialize in felines. 13 is very old for a cat. They say cats have nine lives. But all cats abused, or cherished live forever. All lives should have nine cats. You can never bring them back, but They would want you to start over
