Not like humans. I am guessing there is something not normal about your cats rear. Suggest a vet! No creams please

Impacted anal glands, glands that dogs and cats have on either side of their rectums, can act like hemmorhoids in humans. If these glands aren't emptied naturally when the animal has a bowel movement, or by the vet or groomer, they can get infected and the symptoms are much like human hemmorhoids--itching, burning, swelling of the area, etc. If you suspect your cat has this, get him/her to the vet--they'll be forever grateful as you can imagine, this is not pleasant. As TT said, DO NOT self-medicate your cat. They can lick it off and become very ill!
