Could very well be - every cat is different and develops differently. As long there were not other changes in eating drinking, litter box habits, energy level it just seems that your kitty has found it's voice. My Loki talked from day one and has never stopped *LOL*

Hi Shea, I didn't meow, in fact, I didn't make any noise at first. But sometimes, I would make this really funny noise for the first six months of my life. Then I had this garbled meow for the longest time, and that was the extent of my vocabulary for a few more months. Only this month have I started making a few different sounds. I am now 11 months old. So while 3 years is considerably longer than my speaking experience, I think it's normal that your kitty finally decided it's time to talk!

When my mommy first brought me home--I would move my mouth like I was going to meow-but no sound would come out. My mommy thought maybe I had a problem with my voice box. But, it just keeps getting a little bit louder every day. I am now almost 1 yr. and my mommy can actually here me now!! One day I think I will be able to roar!! Keep meowing!! It's fun!
