If you aren\'t familiar w/the term: it means eating very inappropriate, and even possibly fatal stuff, like cats that literally eat sweaters. I have developed a new habit that\'s driving my people nuts: I lick everything, esp. furniture. Food is not a cause - I\'ll lick the arms and backs of chairs that are nowhere near food. I\'ll also lick sheets, blankets, you name it. Food, water, treats, cat grass, playmates & lovin\' are all readily available. Any ideas?

The only thing I can think of is possibly a lack of minerals, vitamins which kitty is trying to get by licking things? I would speak with your Vet and ask if it might possibly be a good idea to have a blood test done to check for any deficiencies.
