I am just starting my kitty family on a better diet after doing some research... I went to Petsmart to get food... They didn\'t have the smaller bag of the Science Diet kitten which my new kitten, KiKi, had been eating from a sample \"kitten kit\" bag.
There was an older lady in the same isle, who was greeted by my dog and she asked me if I had seen the article about the pet food... I said no and she proceded to tell me the article mentioned many foods that are really not good for our pets... I was thinking she was a bit excentric.
I looked over many bags of kitten food in Petsmart, now a bit confused. Instead of spending $12+ on a small bag of S.D. \"Natural\" kitten food... I decided to go home and try to find this article... Well, I did not find the article but I found much more info...
I discovered that many, even premium, pet foods contain by-products, ingredients from not specific sources, dyes, flavors, and unnessasary chardohydrates, amoung other things.
I stopped at the local pet food store and picked up a couple cans of Innova Evo and Origen dry cat food to try, and also a couple cans of Ivo dog food. I must say, all my pets seemed to enjoy eating this food much more. Also, I found that buying the large can of Evo cat food was about $0.50 less expensive than buying the same amount of Fancy Feast. So why not? It\'s better quality, less expensive, kitties seem to like it...
I am just starting out researching this new discovery. Any info would be helpful. Thanks.
