If you were still here, we'd be celebrating number 20 today! Unfortunately, you left us at a mere 11.
Your birthday is especially poignant this year, since mom and grandma buried your empty shell behind great-grandpa's house, and right now he is moving out because the airport is annexing his land and tearing down the house. Soon, mom will no longer be able to visit your grave.
Mom realizes, of course, that you aren't there, under the willow tree behind the old house, but in our hearts. She does, though, hope that the airport doesn't have to remove your tree.
We miss you, and we're grateful to have had you enrich our lives with your presence. You will be a part of us forever.
